All about pops

All about pops •

It all started with too much fruit. We began preserving it by making drinking shrubs. Creating fun flavor profiles and unexpected drinks from things growing in abundance became a passion. Being a lifelong popsicle and ice cream lover, it didn’t take long to start experimenting with frozen concoctions. And here we are - being inspired, picking, tasting, creating, from the flora on our land.

Ethos of
Flora Hill

Flora Hill prioritizes sustainable practices using the freshest, local produce available.  We use as many of our own herbs, fruit and vegetables as possible.   We wait to harvest them until they are at their peak ripeness.  If we use something that we do not grow, we look to our neighbors and friends for responsibly grown produce.  When we run out of a flavor or product it is because we have used our entire supply of ripe herb/fruit/veg and are likely waiting for more to grow or it may be finished for the season.  Changing flavors keeps us nimble and is the source of fun behind the scenes.

We purchase sustainably grown cocoa and vanilla beans, raw organic sugar, raw organic apple cider vinegar and organic coconut oil.  We use Western Washington dairy for our milk and cream.  Our popsicle sleeves are commercially compostable.  We encourage you to reuse your popsicle sticks for kindling, crafts, or gardening tags.  We have a tiny commercial processing facility on our property where all of our products are made.

We truly enjoy experimenting with flavors and using hyper local foods that we forage.  We love all things rhubarb, magnolia, spruce, seaberry and fuchsia among other things.  If you have an abundance of an herb, fruit or veg that you think we could use and would like to trade or sell please contact us.  We are always looking for new-to-us flavor profiles and community connections.   We are happy to do special orders for your upcoming occasion.  It takes a village, feel free to reach out florahillfarm@gmail.com.
